PAST ECONOMIC PLANS
by Tom Lineaweaver
by Tom Lineaweaver
Sometimes is good to go back and reflect upon what you said before. This was my proposal to eliminate the National Debt back in March of 2010. Also the early stages of the Greed Tax I have talked about.
MY PLAN TO ELIMINATE THE NATIONAL DEBT
I've actually been thinking about this for several years. Now I'm ready to unveil this plan. I already know it's going to be unpopular, because I will propose a new tax. But, I will also propose the elimination of other taxes.
There is no doubt, to solve this problem, the American people has to bite the bullet. Rightly so. Out of all the countries in the world, we get the government we deserve because we elect it. We the people have been sending big spenders to Washington for a long time. This didn't happen over night. And, whether we send Democrats, or Republicans to Washington, we get the same thing with different rhetoric. Yet, we still send these big spenders back year after year, and they spend more and more. To solve this problem, we will have to make drastic changes. No doubt these changes will bother some people. But, we will be better off on the other side.
First, I propose an National Debt Elimination Tax (NDET) This will be a $10 per capita tax, that will end when the National Debt is eliminated. Unfortunately, the bigger the family, the greater the tax burden. A family of 10 will have to pay $100 every year. A family of four will pay $40 every year. The sole purpose of this tax is to pay the debt.
Second, I propose the elimination of all Capital Gains taxes. Hopefully, this will allow businesses to hire people, which will in turn raise revenues, so that government will be able to pay the bills, and not increase the debt.
Third, I propose an income tax cap of 23%. Since the big spenders in Washington do not want to enact a sensible flat tax, they must be limited to how much money they take for their earmarks, and pet projects. Since we must keep this insane graduated tax system, there must be a ceiling that they will not be able change.
Fourth, I propose we eliminate wasteful spending by eliminating programs and departments that the Federal government has no business being in in the first place. We must eliminate the Department of Education, and the Department Homeland Security. As far as Education is concerned, that responsibility rightly belongs to the States. And, we already have a Department of Defense, we don't need another one. The duty of defending this country rightly belongs to the Defense department. Given the proper tools and resources the Department of Defense can do a much better job at securing this nation than a bunch over-paid bureaucrats in Washington. I also propose the elimination of the Department of Transportation. Any necessary function of USDOT can be done by the Department of Commerce. After all, what is the purpose of transportation if not commerce. I would also put the Postal Service under Commerce.
Almost everything we do is connected to Commerce, right down to driving to the local store for a can of hairspray. Anytime you do something that you have to spend money for, you are doing commerce. Of course, as a former broadcaster I'd like to see the elimination of the FCC. But, I haven't figured out yet what department would take up the necessary functions of the FCC. Of course, that might be Commerce too. After all, most radio and TV stations are commercial stations. But, the FCC does more than regulate radio and TV, they also oversee the implementation of treaties in regards to broadcasting.
There it is. My plan to eliminate the national debt. A new tax system, cutting spending to the minimum. This should pay down the debt in about 20 years. But, at least we'd be going in the right direction. The problem is, most people don't want to eliminate their pet departments and programs. And, people in local districts still want their Congress person to bring home as much as they can. Thus the elimination of earmarks would be difficult. The American people would have to adjust their attitudes regarding the purpose for the Federal government. Getting the government back to the Constitution is the best way to eliminate the National debt. But, are the American people ready for that? I don't think so. There will always be some one that wants their slice of the Federal pie. Only when the people of this country realize they get the government they deserve will any plan to really change Washington take hold and have a chance to pass. Let's take healthcare, for example. Many people want to see healthcare reform, just not the bill currently being considered in Washington. The people must realize, the Federal government has no business in healthcare at all. But, I don't see that happening anytime soon. Also, I don't believe the American people are ready to bite the bullit. Therefore, Washington will keep spending, and the deficits will increase, and the National debt will continue to grow till there is an economic crash. When that happens, the people will be forced to bite the bullit, and maybe we'll have to learn to speak Chinese. That day is coming if we don't do something now. Whether it's my plan, or another, something has to be done to change Washington. If you think voting out all the incumbents in November will accomplish this, I'd like to know where you've been for the past 30 years. Whether we have a Republican or Democratic Congress, the result is always the same.
We are headed to an economic meltdown unless we take drastic steps now to avoid it. The people will have to say to Congress, "we don't want that money for our local playground." "We don't want more stadiums built when our bridges are crumbling." Until the American people can say things like that, and stand by it, we will never see the changes in Washington that I hear many people say they want. But, are the American people ready to quit milking the cash cow for their local projects, like new schools with swimming pools? I doubt it. I have to see that before I'll belive it.
That's how I see it.
This article was written before I put my platform together, as you can see if you look at the date posted.

As you can see I have been interested in the economy back then. I guess it's because Rion Paul ran for President in 2008, and I supported him all the way. He spoke a lot about the economy. I will forever be indebted to Ron Paul. Without him my understanding and concern of the economy would not be near as great.
Back then I also proposed a Greed Tax. Since I have mentioned that a time or two, I decided to bring back the old relic from 2010.
GREED TAX
Folks that know me well are going to be surprised, perhaps shocked, that I am proposing a new tax. I call it a Greed Tax. It will make people like Tom Wolf pay in their share.
Greed is one of the ruinations of our society. The exercise of greed is a partial reason there is so much poverty. It makes the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, because often those who are less fortunate have to pay for the greed of the greedy. Well, now I want to see a greed tax to help the needy.
Here's how it works. First, the rate of the Greed Tax will be 50%. Does that startle you? Trust me, the greedy can afford it. The people subject to this greed tax are people with an annual income of $1,000,000 or more. Will that hurt anyone? Of course not. People with an annual income of $1,000,000 will have $500,000 left after the tax, which is more than most people.
Also, this greed tax will be levied on fees that have no substance of commerce of any kind. For example, the fees at the banks for using their ATM. Those fees are $1.50 and up. What are they for? What do they pay for? In a Wikipedia article I found this statement, "As banks and third parties realized the profit potential, they raised the fees. ATM fees now commonly reach $3.00, and can be as high as $6.00, or even higher in cash-intensive places like bars and casinos." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATM_usage_fees
What about interest rates at banks and financial institutions? I have seen them at 25% or more. Where does most of that money go? We all know it lines the pockets of the CEOs. I don't know about you, but I have never seen an interest rate on savings account get anywhere close to the interest charged for loans.
ATM fees, interest rates on loans and credit card accounts, mostly feed the greed of the CEOs. Those fees and interest rates need to be subject to the greed tax.
What about the high price of electric, telephone and cable? Where does most of that go except to line the pockets of those CEOs. In the case of Comcast, their customers have been funding the take over of NBC/Universal. Comcast has profits in the billions and has for at least 10 years. Yet, during that time they have often raised their rates. Those profits should be subject to this tax. Unless they can show a profit sharing program, or an intention to improve their services that would use up those profits. You know, Comcast can afford to hire more people to improve customer service. But they have not done that. Instead they have bought NBC. Now, I see reports that they are merging with Time Warner. All on the backs of their customers. This is greed, and should be taxed. And there are many big companies out there doing the very same thing, such as Verizon. Verizon customer service is horrible. So where does their profit go? Profits of big companies like this should be taxed.
Now, what about doctors? In the last several weeks, 2 doctors offices told me that if I skipped an appointment I would be charged $20 or $30 respectively. The one told me I could not make an appointment till the $30 is paid. Folks, that is pure greed, and should be taxed.
If you are astute, you would realize that if the Federal Government charged this tax, and a State would do likewise, that would eliminate the entire salaries of the greedy. Yes it would. So, obviously we can't do that. Hence, this would be a Federal tax, then the States may tax what's left. So, here in Pennsylvania, Tom Wolf and his ilk could pay up to 75% of their yearly income in taxes, and they would still be far better off than the majority of the people he wants to tax more.
You may wonder why I said, "Greed is one of the ruinations of our society. The exercise of greed is a partial reason there is so much poverty. It makes the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, because often those who are less fortunate have to pay for the greed of the greedy." The more the greedy takes, which includes government, the less there is for everyone else, and that causes poverty. Greedy people don't care who they have to trample on to get what they want. That is why there should be a greed tax. Because, usually, it's the government that has to pick up the pieces for those that have been hurt by the greedy.
I have mentioned just a few examples of greed. There are a lot more.
If you would see my current tax plan, it is not the same. line2016.freeforums.net/thread/292/rescue-america-ultimate-tax-plan But, there is one item that is still in my tax plan. I have come to call it the "Empty Commodity Charge and Fee Tax." It has not changed a bit. And I have been formulating what I call a Greed Tax package. It still includes the millionaires tax, but not 50%. It won't be more than 33%, and probably 10%. Don't want to hurt these poor guys too much.
Of course my current tax plan calls for the elimination of the income tax, and the repeal of the 16th Amendment. In fact I am hoping for a whole new Tax Code. A Tax Code that is a lot shorter. Do you have any idea how many pages are in the current Tax Code? Maybe this will help.
Please see the article here: www.washingtonexaminer.com/look-at-how-many-pages-are-in-the-federal-tax-code/article/2563032
This is an interesting paragraph in this article...
This growth in the tax code has not come without consequences. "Over the decades, lawmakers have increasingly asked the tax code to direct all manner of social and economic objectives, such as encouraging people to buy hybrid vehicles, turn corn into gasoline, purchase health insurance, buy a home, replace that home's windows, adopt children, put them in daycare, purchase school supplies, go to college, invest in historic buildings, spend more on research, and the list goes on," according to the Tax Foundation's chart book, "Putting a Face on America's Tax Returns."
Constitutionally, the purpose for taxes is to pay the debts, provide fir the common defence and general welfare of the United States. Today's Tax Code goes beyond the Constitutional purpose for taxation. When I am President, this 74,608 page tax code will be crated up and thrown in the Potomac. I might have to call on Supergirl to help out. And, by the way, Supergirl premiers on the CW on October 10th. Perhaps you can get a tax break for watching it. Under the current Tax Code, anything is possible.
You know, I might like this tax code. We can take 40% of the GDP in taxes, then when I'm there, give you a tax break if you dump Comcast. You, know, playing with the Tax Code could get addicting. And Washington is probably already addicted. In fact they are probably Tax Code junkies. Maybe they should see a psychiatrist about their addiction. If there ever was a good reason for term limits, that's it. It's now easy to see the lure of "public service" as they call it.
One way or another, we must have a better economy. So I ask that you...
