THE RESTORATION OF AMERICA
by Tom Lineaweaver
Amid all the political issues that I have been a part of recently, about how to restore America through fixing the economy, fixing our foreign policy, and restoring Constitutional governance and liberty, there is always something in my mind about how America can be restored without even one political solution. And that is for the church to obey 2nd Chronicles 7.14 where it is written, "when my people humble themselves—the ones who are called by my name—and pray, seek me, and turn away from their evil practices, I myself will listen from heaven, I will pardon their sins, and I will restore their land." ISV, biblehub.com/isv/2_chronicles/7.htm
Often we hear people use the phrase "one nation under God." But, we do not have one nation under God. We don't even have one church under God, which we haven't had in nearly 2000 years. After the apostles were gone, the church very quickly was fragmented. In fact it was on the verge of that while the apostles were here. The apostle Paul wrote several times about unity. Jesus prayed according to John 17 that all believers would be one, or united. That is not what we have in the United States, and we never have. As for the claim we have had a Christian heritage in America, that is not true. Certainly not the Christianity taught about in the New Testament. The New Testament teaches one church under the sole authority of Christ. And that one church obeyed the teachings of Christ. We do not see that in the United States, and we never have throughout our history. We certainly have a religion that calls itself Christianity, but it is far from the Christianity taught in the New Testament. So, it is quite impossible to have one nation under God when we don't even have one church under God.
However, the people of America were far more obedient to God in the 16 and 1700s, than they are today. And perhaps God blessed that obedience. Therefore, if the people of America were once again obedient to God, regardless of what the evil church does, perhaps he would once again bless that obedience. Besides, God does not reside in man-made buildings. He resides in the hearts of his people. And from what I can see, there are very few of those people.
We need national repentance. We the people of the United States of America in order to form a more perfect union must humble ourselves, pray and seek God, and turn away from our evil ways, God will listen, will pardon our sins, and restore America.
I call upon the pastors of America to preach Christ crucified and resurrected, and what was accomplished at the cross, instead of the rot we often hear on television. I call upon you to expose the deeds of darkness as Ephesians 5.11 states in the NASB.
I would gladly come speak in whatever venue you wish about this. Just contact me here, and we will set up a time.
LET'S RESCUE AMERICA TOGETHER
