HIGHER POWERS
by Tom Lineaweaver

I recently posted this in several places...
It is based on Romans 13. Verse 1 states, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers: for there is no power but of God; and the powers that be are ordained of God." ASV. Newer translation uses the term, "governing authorities."
The United States is governed by the representatives of the people. And those representatives are governed by, or should be, the highest law of the land, the Constitution. Therefore, the governing authority of the United States is the Constitution.
Since Paul was writing to the church at Rome, i.e. Christians, he was telling Christians to be subject to the higher powers. Here that higher power is the Constitution. If you oppose the Constitution, you oppose the ordinance of God. Hence, no true Christian would violate or otherwise oppose the Constitution.
The point of this brief message is that Christians in the United States, and least the vocal minority, do oppose the Constitution. At the same time they are also opposing God. If God ordained the founding of this Country, and many believe he did, then he ordained the Constitution to be the highest law of the land.
The evidence is in who we vote for, and I will admit I am guilty of this myself. After the 2012 election I decided "no more." From that point on I would only vote for Constitutional candidates. Unfortunately there are very, very few of those.
For Christians to vote for unconstitutional candidates, I believe is a violation of the ordinance of God.
In 2016, there was only one pro-Constitution candidate for President, and his name is Darrell Castle. So far, I see no pro-Constitution candidates running for anything in 2018. And, if all works well, in 2020, there will be a pro-Constitution Democrat candidate for President.
