RESCUING COUNTRY MUSIC

I made a promise to some Country artist friends of mine that I would not only fix the Country, but I would also fix Country music. Well, I do have a plan to fix Country music. Some would say the President can't do anything. Oh, but he can.
You know how artists of various genres over the years have played at the White House. Well, the first Country artist I would invite is Amber Digby. I told her I would do that, and I will.
Hank Williams is undoubtedly a national treasure, and I will ask Congress to pass a resolution creating a Hank Williams Day. Let us join Georgiana , AL in a national celebration of this legend.
The President can take a legal step. I believe radio stations that advertise they play Country Music when in fact they do not, their entire business is based on a sham. This violates false advertising laws in the United States.

When a radio stations claim in an advertisement that they play "Today's Best Country" when in fact they don't play Country at all, and they receive money from vendors that support their radio station, they are in fact making a false claim to those vendors. That's the very definition of false advertising. When I am President, these radio stations will be fined. And we will start with $1,000,000 per every year they have done this. I know of a radio station that has been doing this for at least 10 years. They will be fined $10,000,000. Of course, by the time I become President, it will be $14,000,000.
Some might say this doesn't hurt anyone. No children are being choked, no air bags are malfunctioning. It's a victimless crime. But it does hurt someone, and there are victims. It hurts people who love Country music and can't find it on the radio. They have to scrounge around on the internet to find it. It's a hassle and could cause pain and suffering.
It also hurts artists that really do Country music when they get no airplay because as it was once said to Randy Travis, they are too Country for Country music. Airplay means bigger audiences where they appear. It means greater record sales. So it is not a victimless crime. It is a crime and my administration will treat it as such.
Do you think Donald Trump will do this? Of course not. Donald Trump will be the most business oriented President we've had in a long time. He will not do anything to hurt big business. He will allow big business to continue to hurt the American people. And we will have to put up with this godfather for the next four years.
This is not to say that radio stations have to play Country music. It is saying radio stations need to be honest about what they do. There are radio stations that claim to be Sports Radio. Guess what? They do sports programming 24/7. Same as News Radio. But those that claim to play "Today's Best Country" do not play Country music 24/7. So, they should either play Country music as advertised, or they need to change their advertisement. It's as simple as that.
There is only one place where false advertising is not against the law. Politics. Donald Trump advertised he would put Hillary Clinton in jail. Once elected he decided to help her heal. Did his false advertising effect the election? Probably. Can he be held accountable? Nope. And I guess that is okay. After all a candidate for office could legitimately change their mind. To hold them accountable you would have to prove deception. So, it's almost impossible to hold lying politicians accountable except at the ballot. And I hope you will do that in 2020. Help me...
