I have encountered many who say, "End the Fed." I have not encountered anyone that will take action based on their rhetoric. The solution is simple.
STOP USING PAPER MONEY!
I've written an article entitled, "No Need to End the Fed," ourlifebook.freeforums.net/thread/160/end-fed In that article I suggested several things, among which is using coins instread of paper money. However, in an article here: time.com/money/4307717/getting-rid-of-cash/ it is pointed out, " (cash transactions)account for a minority of all transactions."
As I stated in my article, "But, keep this in mind, most financial transactions today are done electronically. Direct deposits are done electronically. Even if you write a check that check is cleared electronically. Electronically funds are taken from your account and deposited in the account of whoever the check is written to." However, when I am standing in line at the store, while many use plastic cards to pay, there is still a substantial use of paper money. Maybe that's because of the area I live in.
Of all people that should stop using Federal Reserve Notes it's the "End the Fed" folks. They probably believe what is in the article here: www.ronpaul.com/fiat-money-inflation-federal-reserve-2/ But, I don't see it happening.
Federal Reserve Notes are basically money without any value. And that is the best reason to convert to a coin based economy. Coins have greater intrinsic value than the paper money we are using.
I am not the only one who believes as I do. "Ron Paul believes that the first step towards monetary freedom is to allow open competition in currencies." (From the article above). We already have the means to compete with Federal Reserve currency. COINS!
The Federal Reserve does not mint the coins, the U.S. Treasury does. The Federal Reserve does not control the value of coins, Congress does, and has done so through various Coinage Acts. The only thing the Federal Reserve does with coins is distribution.
Of course, you might want to get a coin pouch, and there are several on the market.
I realize the use of coins is inconvenient, but in every revolution there is inconvenience.
Let's face it, Congress is not about to end the Fed. But, we the people can get out from under the Federal Reserve, which is very important. See this article: line2016.freeforums.net/thread/102/federal-reserve-insurance-policy
We may not ever see the end of the Fed, but we can alleviate their effectiveness.
