CHRISTIANS IN POLITICS by Tom Lineaweaver There are some who believe that Christians are citizens of the kingdom of God, and not a citizen of any part of this world, and therefore should be a part of this world's government. What do you think? Based on Romans 13, I believe it is okay for a Christian to be a part of the governing authorities in this world. First it is written that there is no authority except by God's permission and established by God. It is further written that governing authorities are servants of God. And there purpose is to "administer punishment" to the wrongdoer. See ISV - www.biblegateway.com/passage/?version=ISV&search=Romans%2013So, based on the fact that the governing authorities are servants of God, why shouldn't they be Christians? I have asked this question several times of people that don't believe Christians should run for political office, but was never given an answer that made sense, at least not to me. So, what say you? I ask this because I am considering running for President. But then you knew that.
