PROBLEM WITH ROE V. WADE
by Tom Lineaweaver
by Tom Lineaweaver
Let me preface by saying I am 100% pro-life both from a religious and a Constitutional perspective. Roe V. Wade is unconstitutional.
In an earlier article I wrote, "Suppose a man would decide having a child at this time would too much of a burden, why can't he instruct the woman to have an abortion? But he doesn't have that right. Therefore, Roe v. Wade violates the very clause the Court used to establish this right of a woman to have an abortion, because men don't have the same right, therefore men do not have the equal protection of the laws." See the article here: line2016.freeforums.net/thread/16/roe-wade scroll down to "ROE V. WADE: EQUAL PROTECTION."
Here is an article that proves my point... Father Who Paid Surrogate $33,000 to Have Triplets Makes a Disturbing Demand
The article starts...
Melissa Cook was hired to be a surrogate mother for an unidentified Georgia man earlier this year.
She was to be paid $33,000 for her efforts. But what both parties didn’t expect was triplets.
Cook and the man used in-vitro fertilization, combining his sperm with the egg of an unnamed 20-year-old woman. Cook was implanted with three embryos, each of them defying the odds. The result was triplets.
Now, the Georgia man is demanding Cook to abort one of the babies or face financial ruin.

The article goes on...
Cook, who is a California native, spoke to the The New York Post:
"They are human beings. I bonded with these kids. This is just not right"
"They are human beings. I bonded with these kids. This is just not right"
So, the woman in this case does not believe it's right to have an abortion, but the man is insisting on the murder of one of the unborn, which he is calling reduction, and for selfish reasons, just like many women who have elective abortions. But, does he have the right under Roe v. Wade. Absolutely not. Nowhere does Roe v. Wade give men this right.
The article goes on to say...
Cook is currently 17 weeks pregnant.
California law dictates that, aside from life-threatening exceptions, fetuses cannot be aborted once they become “viable,” which is typically around 20 weeks.

So it's doubtful she'll have the abortion. The legal wrangling will probably take more than the three weeks remaining.
I would really like to see this case continue all the way to the Supreme Court because it would challenge Roe v. Wade. It will show the unconstitutionality of Roe v. Wade. She will be able to use Roe v. Wade to say that the choice to abort is her's, not his. He then could point out the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment. Should he win, that will allow men to have a say in whether or not a woman has an abortion. Should she win, she will not only get the $33,000 as per the original agreement, albeit she will probably have to keep one of the babies, and he will likely have to pay her legal fees. Of course, that depends on the contract. Does the contract say only two babies? That's unclear in the article.
In my opinion, the unnamed man in this article is an unprincipled, unstable, uncaring cad, to put money above the life of an unborn child. When all is said and done I hope she will be able to keep the babies, and give them the love they will need. It's obvious this brute that is seeking to ruin her is incapable of love.
There is another question. What about the egg donor? Does she have any rights? She's unnamed in the article, but is she known to anyone?
You know, as in food, I believe reproduction is best when it is done naturally, the way God intended it. The further we go away from the kind of life God established in creation, the harder life is.
Of course, it would be so much easier if we just got rid of Roe v. Wade. When I am President, I will do that.
If you want to get rid of Roe v. Wade...
LET US RESCUE THE UNBORN TOGETHER
