CONSTITUTIONAL POPULIST GREEN LIBERTARIAN
by Tom Lineaweaver
If one were to label me, I suppose this would be it.
The President of the United States takes an oath to "preserve, protect and defend" the Constitution. Eveything he might do must be within the framework of the Constitution.
Within Constitutional bondaries, I would put people first. Nothing the President does should ever hurt or be detrimental to the American people in any way. And that leads to protecting the environment, and allowing for liberty.
Therefore I want to get the Government under the Constitution. The President needs to hold the Congress to the Constitution. Should Congress send the President an unconstitutional bill or budget it is imperative for him/her to veto it. Should Congress override the President's veto it is then the President's duty to challenge it in Court. That is the way I believe this system of checks and balances should work.
Next, the President must consider the will and needs of the people. The only time the will of the people may be overridden is when it violates the Constitution. That's why I said , "within Constitutional boundaries, I would put people first." The Constitution is the highest law of the land, and cannot be violated for any reason, including the will of the people. Let's face it, the majority is not always right. However, if the people wanted to, they can change the Constitution.
I believe it's important, within the Constitution, to protect the envioronment, and not to be petty. For example, since fracking is done in multiple States by National corporations, I believe that Congress can pass a bill to ban the practice, then I would sign it into law. I think there is plenty evidence that fracking is dangerous. But, as of now, our Government is being run by polticians that are beholding to those corporations.
Instead of using fossil fuels, we can develop hemp fuel to run our cars and heat our homes with, and get high at the same time. (Just kidding) And since hemp is a very versatile plant we can one day have a full fledged hemp industry in America. And, it wonders me if there are other plants like that. What else are weeds good for? Maybe some have properties like the hemp plant. It's certainly worth researching.
I believe the people of the United States have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, which means you can do anything you want, so long as you are not hurting anyone else.
I think you can see the Constitutional, the populist, the green and the libertarian parts of my political views. So, if you want to label me, that would be it.
LET US RESCUE AMERICA TOGETHER
