NOT MUCH CHANGE
by Tom Lineaweaver
I wrote the following article in late 2013. You will see some minor differences, but not in my overall political views.
TOM LINEAWEAVER FOR PRESIDENT IN 2016
Okay, I realize that a snowball has a better chance of survival in a hot furnace than I have of being elected. But that doesn't mean I can't look for a candidate that shares my vision for the Country. So far, I don't see any from either Party. The Democrats best hope is in Hilary Clinton. And the Republicans seem to be leaning toward Ted Cruz. Neither are my cup of tea. So, what's the solution? Perhaps a third Party.
What about the Constitution Party? First of all, it's too small. And I have a a little with their agenda of turning this Country into a theocracy. The want the government to get back to the Constitution and the Bible. I share the idea of Government getting back to the Constitution. But, why should the Government follow the Bible when the church in America does not. I think that's a bit hypocritical. First, let's get the church to follow the Bible, and the government will automatically.
The Libertarian Party? While the Libertarian Party shares my view of the Government obeying the Constitution and promoting Liberty, they take no position one moral issues that I see as important, such as abortion ans same sex marriage.
What about the Tea Party? For now, the Tea Party is not a political party, but rather a political action committee. My problem with the Tea Party is they are mostly about money. Many of them seem to follow the Ayn Rand model of economics, which means they don't care who gets hurt when they make the spending cuts they want. Unfortunately, many Republicans are following that model.
If the Constitution, Libertarian, and Tea Parties would humble themselves, and merge, we would have the makings of a formidable third party. Of course, none of them seem to care about the people that would be hurt if they would get their economic agenda through. So, this new party would have to change that. The US Constitution makes people paramount. It guarantees to the States a Republican form of Government. That means the people are in charge through their representatives. But, our representatives do what they want no matter what the people say. We have become a dictatorial democracy where we vote for politicians that, when elected, become our dictators.
Until we have that formidable third party, I am stuck with seeking what I am looking for in the Republican Party. So, what am I looking for? I am looking for a President that will follow his/her oath of office, to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution." The last President to come close was John F. Kennedy. He wasn't perfect, but he was sure much better than Presidents we've had more recently. If the Democrats come up with another JFK, that would be great. While Republicans would do well to find someone that would govern the way Ronald Reagan spoke. Reagan rather much spoke the right things, but his Administration sure did not follow what he spoke. Whereas Kennedy tried to govern based on what he said. At least that is my impression.
My vision of America is where the Government gets out of the way so the people can have liberty again, and the private sector can rebuild its economy, and people can have jobs instead of Government Assistance. Where people can smoke a joint in their living room while they are watching a football game. And where the Federal Government will be cut down to Constitutional limits. Which means about 90% of the Federal Government would be gone.
I will be writing more about my vision of America as the days, weeks and months progress. And if I do wind up in the White House.....

At the writing of this article I was still a Republican. As a Republican, I in no way could ever become President. You see what happened to Ron Paul, and our agendas are not all that dissimilar. Back then I thought the Republicans were leaning toward Ted Cruz. Not any more. I think the Party bosses already decided on Jeb Bush.
Also, back then, I was more concerned with finding a candidate I can support, no matter they came from. That was nearly 2 years ago. And I haven't found anyone yet, except for myself. Not one that I have found have a good plan of fixing the economy. No one is talking about the need of getting back on the Gold and Silver Standard. Not one is talking about Constitutional Economics. Not one is talking about cutting the size of Government by 80-90%. Not one is talking about getting back to the Constitution at all, except maybe Rand Paul, which I don't know if I trust him. He might be Ron Paul's son, but he is not Ron Paul. So, I am not finding anyone that comes close to what I'm looking for.
At the time of the article, I was also looking for someone I could support for Governor. That didn't happen either. So I decided I would try to seek the Republican nomination, but I did that way too late. And, the Party bosses already decided on Tom Corbett, knowing full well that he had the worst polling numbers of all Governors in the history of Pennsylvania. But, I decided on a write in campaign to get the nomination. That didn't work, so the day after I went and registered as an Independent, to run a write in campaign for Governor. Believe it or not, some people have blamed me for Tom Wolf becoming Governor.
During that time, I decided I need to be part of a Party. No one fit what I was looking for, so I formed Freedom USA Party, which you can learn about here: freedomuasparty.freeforums.net/#category-1
Before the election in November, I got a phone call from a man in Louisiana, who had been looking at my positions, and he liked them. Apparently he and others have been talking about, and it was decided he would give me a call. He did, and offered all kinds of support if I wanted to run for President. So you see, as of the above article, I had not thought about running for President, except in the thought that if I can't find anyone I can support, I would have to try it myself. In fact, in the main body of the article, I never once said I was running for President. I gave it that title to see what reception it would get.
After the phone call from Louisiana, I decided, with all the support I was promised to start with, how can I say "no." We were talking to supporters in the millions throughout all 50 States. So far, I haven't seen it. I was promised a Campaign Manager. That hasn't happened either. So as usual, I was alone.
My political views, while continued to develop over the years, and been basically the same for at least 30 years. Getting back to the Constitution has always been my view. Even with talks I had with a friend, who is now a Pennsylvania State Senator, back in the mid 80s.
All this to show you, my political views have been the same, at least domestically, for a long time. I had no Foreign Policy of my own, but I agreed with Ron Paul. But, when I decided to run for President, I decided I need a Foreign Policy, so I studied. You can read my policies and what I learned in the Foreign Affairs category in this forum site.
Folks, there are no other candidates like me. I have good sound Economic plans. I am the only one that come to understand that Israel really is our enemy, and have been since June 8, 1967. I'm the only one that believes we need a new investigation of 911. I'm the only one that wants to people first in Washington DC. I am one of the few that want to get Government out of the way to eventually allow a full fledged hemp industry in the United States. I am one of the few that want a restoration of Freedom. I'm the only one that has plans to deal with greed. I'm the only that has plans to help our Veterans. I would much rather give American tax dollars to organizations that help the Vets, like Wounded Warrior Project, before one cent goes to another Country. We are not responsible for other Countries, we are responsible for our own. For too long the American people have taken a back seat to benefit other nations, especially Israel. We need to take care of our own first.
We can fix America if we do it together.
