FACEBOOK SPYING ON YOU FOR THE GOVERNMENT
by Tom LIneaweaver
The following video explains it. Better watch while you still can..
In the middle of the video, they posted part of Facebook's terms of service. It says...
By posting Member Content to any part of the Web site, you automatically grant, and you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant, to Facebook an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid, worldwide license (with the right to sublicense) to use, copy, perform, display, reformat, translate, excerpt (in whole or in part) and distribute such information and content and to prepare derivative works of, or incorporate into other works, such information and content, and to grant and authorize sublicenses of the foregoing.
What this says in everyday language is that when you post something on Facebook, you automatically authorize Facebook to anything they want to with what you posted. You might think, "they can't do that." Oh yes they can. You agreed to it. Do you remember when you joined Facebook? You had to click on to a box where you agreed to the Terms of Service.
I use to also think, "they can't do that," because of the copyright laws of the United States that basically, you own anything you write. This portion of the Terms of Service doesn't change that. You still own what you write no matter where you write it. But, the way it is set up, the Terms of Service are a contract or agreement which you agree to. So, yes, they can take your content and do with it what they want.
Notice the words, "excerpt (in whole or in part) and distribute such information and content." What this means is they can take your content, in whole or in part, and give it to anyone they want to, including to Government agencies.
But that's not all. Do you remember agreeing to their "Privacy Policy"? Near the begining, the Privacy Policy is quoted in part to say...
...also collects information about you from other sources, such as newspapers and instant messaging services. This information is gathered regardless of you use on the web.
So Facebook has the ability to have data stored about you from various sources. And based on the Terms of Service, you authorize Facebook to do whatever they want with that information.
The more I learn about Facebook, I'm not in a hurry to go back. The only reason I would want to go back are the people I miss.
LET'S RESCUE AMERICA FROM FACEBOOK TOGETHER
