IS DONALD TRUMP RESTORING THE CONSTITUTION
by Tom Lineaweaver

The question is, is Donald Trump doing what he said he would in the oath of office, which is to "preserve, protect and defend" the Constitution? True, you can ask that question about any modern day President. And, of course, the answer would be "NO."
So many were telling me Trump was going to be different. Is he? What has he done to restore our Constitutional rights? Not one thing!
For example, he has not asked for the repeal of all gun control laws. All of them violate the 2nd Amendment. He has not asked for a repeal of the Patriot Act, which violates the 4th Amendment. And what about the bombing of Syria? Sounds like an act of war to me. Has he gone to Congress and asked for a Declaration of War?
The criminals in Congress have been chipping away at our Constitutional rights and Congressional restraints for some time. Has he done one thing to reverse that? I don't see it.
And what about the 10th Amendment? Of all his talk in the campaign about States' Rights, what has he done to restore them?
You might say, as I have seen in other places, "He has only been in office a short time." But in that time he has not done one thing to restore the Constitution.
The 5th Amendment says in part, "No person shall be ... deprived of ... property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use without just compensation." Donald Trump signed an executive order allowing for pipelines to go through private property in North Dakota and Pennsylvania. Private property rights is essential to liberty.
Several of the founders made statements similar to this by Thomas Jefferson, "The right to procure property and to use it for one's own enjoyment is essential to the freedom of every person, and our other rights would mean little without these rights of property ownership."
Donald Trump doesn't believe that. Go check out Donald Trump's misuse of eminent domain in Atlantic City. He didn't believe in private property rights then, and he doesn't believe in them now.
Some may get some personal benefit from what Trump does, just as some got personal benefit from what Obama did. So, should we sacrifice our Constitutional rights for the sake of these benefits? For some of you, that's the question you need to answer.
