GOVERNMENTS ARE INSTITUTED AMONG MENby Tom Lineaweaver The Declaration of Independence says in part, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."
The founders believed that the purpose for Government was to secure the rights of the people, among which are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The founders gave us that government. One of the purposes of the Constitution according to the Preamble is, "... to Secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves, and our Posterity." Posterity, that's us.
Can there be any doubt what the purpose for our government, at least is supposed to be, is to secure the rights of the people, namely Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. But, do we have that Government today? Not from what I can see.
Those in power have been steadily taking away our Liberty and pursuit of Happiness, and they are working to take away our Life, especially those that would dare assert their Constitutional rights as established in the Bill of Rights. And I see no indication they are going to change. We must remove them from power.
