IMMIGRATION

If you care about the Constitution, I am the most Constitutional candidate for President. That includes the candidate from the Constitution Party. For example, go here to read their position on immigration: www.constitutionparty.com/immigration1/
Can you tell me where the Constitution even mentions immigration? As it stands now, laws regarding immigration are unconstitutional.
They start out by quoting Article 4, Section 4 of the Constitution, “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion;” The only reason I can think of for them to quote this in their position on immigration is it's their position that immigration is tantamount to invasion. Something that is not based on fact. You can see the definition of immigrate here: www.yourdictionary.com/immigrate#americanheritage
See the definition of invade here: www.yourdictionary.com/invade#americanheritage
There is a difference between immigration and invasion. Invasion is done with violence and for violent purposes. Immigration is just moving here with no violent intent. People coming across the border seeking a better life is not invasion. This country was founded upon people like that.
The Constitution Party position continues, "We affirm the integrity of the international borders of the United States and the Constitutional authority and duty of the federal government to guard and to protect those borders, including the regulation of the numbers and of the qualifications of immigrants into the country." Nowhere does the Constitution give that authority to the Federal Government. I challenge anyone to show me where the Constitution does that.
I am not alone in this assessment. Please read the article here: tenthamendmentcenter.com/2010/04/28/immigration-vs-naturalization/
The Tenth Amendment gives whatever power not delegated by the Constitution to the Federal Government to the States or the people, unless it is prohibited. The Constitution gives no power to regulate immigration to the Federal Government. Therefore it is a power for the States or the people.
For those who believe we need to get back to the Constitution, we need to get back all the way, not just partially.
I am a big proponent of the Tenth Amendment. As such, I believe the bulk of governance belongs to the States, not to the Federal Government. The Federal Government has usurped the powers of the States, thereby creating the monster Government we have in Washington D.C. If we just adhered to the Tenth Amendment, a very big chunk of the Federal Government would go away. Obviously the the Constitution Party doesn't agree with that.
If you believe in the Tenth Amendment as I do, then...
Write in Thomas D. Lineaweaver for President of the United States of America on November 8, 2016
