DEAR AMERICA
by Tom Lineaweaver
Dear America,
I am writing to tell you that I love you, but you must stop making those unwise choices. You simply must stop fooling around with your loan. You haven't paid the principle in a long time, and now you are even skipping deferral payments. The stockholders of the bank are getting antsy. They want their dividends in full. They've been talking about foreclosure. When that happens you will lose everything. Your homes, your cars, even your golf clubs. You will be homeless, hungry and unable to entertain yourself as you are accustomed too. You have ignored you bank notices for far too long. Now, you have no choice. Pay this loan, or lose everything.
I realize you're sick and can't often work, even when you do have a job. And what little money you do get you spend it lavishly. You just have to have the latest fashions, and newest shoes. All the while you have been ignoring the warnings from the bank. Any day now you will be getting a foreclosure notice, then what? Will you prostitute yourself to the highest bidder.
My beloved America, along the way you have taken in every stray dog or cat that needed a home. And you really need to get rid of the bulldog before he kills all the other dogs and cats. Simply stop feeding him, then maybe he'll go away.
America, you must get all of this under control if you know what's good for you. You have a written life plan and budget. Use it. If you want there are those willing to help, if you only accept the help. Those that have been helping you have been bleeding you dry. Between that and you extravagant lifestyle, your finances are on the brink of disaster. You should except the help of that new finance counselling firm, "Lineaweaver, Paul and Forbes." I am certain they can help you out of this mess, if you only let them.
I am so sorry to be the bearer of bad news. And you know I love you young lady. But the truth is, you have ignored this problem for far too long. You simply must do something before that foreclosure notice comes.
Sincerely,
Your friend.
